Lumencor is pleased to introduce our newest accessory for the SPECTRA light engine, the Remote Control Accessory (RCA). The RCA was born out of user requests for illuminator control without the need for a dedicated computer or third party software.

The RCA allows the user to name the individual excitation bands, toggle between them, set power levels for individual bands as well as to set a user-definable default setting for commonly used wavelengths and power levels.

The RCA connects directly to the SPECTRA light engine. It can be used in conjunction with other SPECTRA accessories such as the Camera Interface Accessory (CIA). The RCA provides users the ability to control the SPECTRA directly as well as via a computer interface, with Lumencor software or 3rd party software to drive the light engine.

In combination with any light engine, the RCA eliminates manual control. It enables easy control even for hard to reach light engines such as those directly coupled to a difficult to reach microscope illuminator mount.

The RCA has a 4 line LCD display for real-time display of light engine settings and states. In addition, the RCA allows the user to customize the interface of the RCA itself, leading to the ultimate in flexibility and ease of light engine communications for individual users and core facilities.
